Amy Mackenzie
Senior Director – Operations and Insights
Amy MacKenzie, M.A., Senior Director of Operations and Insights, is an experienced research professional and consultant who brings a unique combination of skills and a well-rounded portfolio of policy and socio-economic research to ATN projects. Amy’s passion is helping leaders and organizations achieve goals and increase effectiveness through client-focused research and consulting. With expertise in engagement, research design and strategic analysis, Amy has led the development of many strategies, options analysis, policies and studies for government, non-profit organizations, and Indigenous communities with a focus on evidence-based decision making. Within ATN, Amy also leads our operations, supervises our research team, and provides guidance to our company on training, innovation and professional development.
Amy is passionate about finding systemic-level solutions to the challenges facing society in this time of disruption and has applied this interest to projects focused on sustainability, housing solutions and improving accessibility of health care. She also worked on a federally funded, international research project that explored a variety of countries’ experiences using alternative indicators of well-being beyond GDP and is a contributing author to the resulting book from University of Toronto Press, Towards Sustainable Wellbeing: Moving beyond GDP in Canada and the World.
In addition to holding a Master of Arts from Dalhousie University in Political Science, Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science and a major in Journalism from St. Thomas University and is currently completing a Project Management Certificate at University of British Columbia. Amy is also a member of the Canadian Evaluation Society and Project Management Institute Nova Scotia Chapter.
