Addie Burkam
Research Analyst
Addie Burkam (BA) is a skilled project coordinator with a background in the social and environmental impacts of climate change, municipal affairs, and community resilience. A first-class honours graduate of Dalhousie University’s Environment, Sustainability and Society Program, she is particularly interested in how policy can be combined with effective local activism to drive positive change at the community level. Addie has experience managing multi-stakeholder projects, and translating complex technical topics into clear, accessible insights for diverse audiences. She brings expertise in local policy and climate research and has a passion for developing accessible and equity-focused materials for underserved community members.
Addie supports the senior leaders and project managers by coordinating project activities, tracking deliverables, and leading outreach to partner organizations and municipalities—ensuring consultation and engagement with all relevant stakeholders. She also has experience managing communication channels for various Atlantic NGO’s, community groups, and municipal staff. This includes coordinating monthly educational webinars, producing a newsletter on topics relating to Atlantic infrastructure and climate resilience, and maintaining an active presence on social media to foster growth, engagement, and connections. Addie’s work ensures that activities remain inclusive, intentional, and well-integrated with the needs of community members.
