Engagement and Innovation Principal

Lorraine Glendenning, Founder & Principal at Ceangal Solutions Engagement, brings three decades of public sector innovation, process improvement and independent consulting focused on collaborative problem-solving to her clients.

Originally from Ireland, Lorraine held leadership roles with Enterprise Ireland, Chambers of Commerce Ireland, and the National Centre for Partnership and Performance. In 2005, Lorraine moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia where she continued her career in public service. Over the last two decades she has held leadership roles in key programs including rural broadband and international trade development. During that time Lorraine won multiple leadership awards and brought a collaborative, user-focused approach to improving service delivery in every department she served – Economic Development, Service Nova Scotia, Treasury Board Office, and Executive Council Office.

Lorraine spent many years leading service excellence initiatives in the Province of Nova Scotia, including lean/ process review, strategic foresight, community and employee engagement, and program financial review. She holds a Certificate in Workplace Innovation from Royal Roads University and has extensive experience of deploying user-centred approaches to process improvement.

In 2024, Lorraine established Ceangal Solutions Engagement to help organizations bring people together to turn challenges into opportunities. Ceangal (key-angle) is an Irish Gaeilge word meaning connections. Ceangal Solutions works with clients to design and facilitate events and activities that build trust, ask powerful questions, and solve problems collaboratively.

Lorraine is deeply committed to equity and diversity. She holds a Diploma in Restorative Justice from Simon Fraser University. She was a founder member of the Provincial Government Immigrant and Newcomer Network and served as co-Chair of the Provincial Diversity Conference in 2018. In 2021, as part of her personal commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, Lorraine co-founded the Nova Scotia Community College Indigenous Student Support fund. The fund was designed in collaboration with the NSCC Indigenous Support team and NSCC Foundation. The Fund raised $30,000 in the first year and continues to be an important NSCC Foundation program.

Lorraine currently serves on the Board of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia.
