Waye Mason
Executive Vice President
Waye Mason leads the team at ATN. A part-time troublemaker, full-time strategic planner, and long-time community builder based in Halifax. He is an entrepreneur, educator, and former municipal councillor with over 30 years of leadership in business, community building, and the arts and culture sector.
Waye excels at crafting and executing strategic plans that drive positive change and is known for his proactive, innovative approach. He has successfully grown businesses, led member organizations, and made significant contributions to the arts and culture sector provincially and nationally.
As a public speaker, Waye is engaging and media-savvy and is known for his ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas. He has worked with communities, stakeholders, and organizations to deliver impactful results and foster collaboration. Waye’s experience includes navigating complex legislative processes, developing economic development strategies, liaising with Indigenous communities, and leading local and national sustainability initiatives.
As a councillor, he served on the board of the Halifax Partnership, Halifax’s economic development agency, as Regional Council’s Indigenous Community Liaison, and on other council committees. Waye holds a Master of Business Administration (General Management) from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from Dalhousie, and a Community College Education (Faculty) Diploma from NSCC.
