Waye Mason
Executive Vice President
Waye Mason is ATN’s Executive Vice President as well as a respected strategic planner and long-time community builder. He is an entrepreneur, educator, and former municipal councillor with over 30 years of leadership in economic, business, and community development. Throughout his career, Waye has delivered successful strategic planning projects across a range of sectors and communities. As a municipal Councillor, he participated in the development and implementation of many strategic plans, including the Halifax Common Master Plan, the Halifax Public Library strategic plan, and the Green Municipal Fund strategic plan.
Waye excels at making complex issues understandable, ensuring clear, accessible messaging, and delivering strategies that achieve communication goals and strengthen organizational reputation. H is a past member of the board of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, past President and five year board member of the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities, Deputy Mayor of Halifax, three year member of the Green Municipal Fund Council, and served for four years on the Halifax Partnership Board, where he participated in the creation of the last two Halifax Regional Municipality economic strategies.
Waye holds a Master of Business Administration in General Management from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University, and a Community College Education (Faculty) Diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College, where he was faculty for five years.
