Waye Mason

Waye Mason, MBA, is ATN’s Executive Vice President and a respected strategic planner and long-time community builder. He is an entrepreneur, educator, and former municipal councillor with over 30 years of leadership in economic development, business, and community development. Waye excels at crafting and executing strategic plans that drive positive change. He is recognized for his proactive, innovative approach to strategic options and feasibility analysis. He has successfully grown businesses, led member organizations, and made significant contributions to Nova Scotia’s economic growth.
Throughout his career, Waye has delivered successful strategic planning projects across a range of sectors and communities. As a municipal Councillor, he participated in the development and implementation of many strategic plans, including the Halifax Common Master Plan, the Halifax Public Library strategic plan, and the Green Municipal Fund strategic plan. As a consultant, he has guided clients through business planning, market analysis, and stakeholder engagement for corporations, arts venues, economic revitalization, and sustainability initiatives. He twice developed growth strategies for Music Nova Scotia, which resulted in sizable provincial investment in the music industry.
Waye holds a Master of Business Administration in General Management from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University, and a Community College Education (Faculty) Diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College, where he was faculty for five years.
