ATN Strategies was commissioned by the Town and County of Antigonish to develop a fully integrated tourism strategic plan for the region. The project developed a sustainable governance structure for the local industry, drove opportunities to increase shoulder season capacity, facilitated growth for local operators, created an environment that increases visitor yields, and explored opportunities to work with industry partners to enhance the region’s tourism potential further.
ATN’s responsibilities on this assignment included:
- Background Research and an environmental scan for Antigonish and the surrounding areas, relevant tourism strategies and documents.
- Community engagement with local operators, as well as the Town and County Council.
- SWOT Analysis.
- Develop an Action plan including possible governance structure, income generators, and investments; and
- Assist with marketing efforts and the creation of marketing materials and strategies.
